Part of the ceremony was recognizing the oldest and youngest marine and navy members in attendence. Guess what year the youngest ones were born! Try 1989 and 1990! Man, I felt so old. These kids are getting trained to go fight for our country in the next couple years and they had dates! Wayne and I haven't been out dancing together...ever! By 10:30 we were so tired! (It might have something to do with the fact that I get up and work at 2:00 AM, and Wayne's up every day at 5:00 AM.) So, we started turning into pumpkins. Before we went home, we got a couple more pictures.

A night out with my prince
On Friday night, Wayne and I got to go to the Navy/Marine Corp Birthday Ball. It was a ton of fun. Its actually the first one we've been able to go to, even though we've been in the military for 5 years now. We've always had to cancel last minute because I've gone into labor or we've had to go to the hospital for something. It's a celebration that each command has once a year in the fall to celebrate the birthday of the corps. There's a ceremony, a very nice dinner, and dancing. Wayne was part of the ceremony this year, so he got to use a sword and stand at attention for over an hour while the captain gave his speach, but we couldn't take pictures during that part. We had Sam take a couple pictures before we left, its a little blurry, but its the only one we got with Wayne in his full uniform.

Here we are!
Ok, so here's what I've got so far. Now, you can't laugh because I look funny in some of them. I can almost never keep my eyes open. My husband thinks its something I can control, but I can't. I think my eyes are light sensitive or something, so I keep trying really hard to keep my eyes open and it makes me look funny. Anyway, here's our end-of the weekday pic. This is us. I told them we had to get this going, so we set the camera on the kitchen counter, set the timer and did it!
No, we don't beat our children. Grace, the one I am holding, got a black eye from a collision with the kiddie swing Izzy was in at the park, and Sam's 7 front teeth all came out one by one in the last year, but none have grown in. We love 'em anyway.
